After her impressive and critically acclaimed 2010 debut feature 'Belle Épine', young director Rebecca Zlotowski is back with her second film Grand Central, which has definitely turned her into one of the brightest stars among young French filmmakers. 

The lead male role in this drama went to the charismatic Tahar Rahim, a young French film star whose first marked role was the one in the multi-awarded 'Prophet' (nominated for the Oscar for Best Film in Foreign Language). Although Rahim's brilliant career is yet to come, the past year has been exceptionally successful for him: we will see him in three different films at this Zagreb Film Festival (besides in Grand Central, he appears in Asghar Farhadi's The Past and Joachim Lafosse's Our Children). 

In this film, Rahim plays young Gary, an unskilled laborer in a nuclear power plant. He faces the risk of radioactive contamination on a daily basis. In the minimalist and depressive environment of the power plant, Gary meets his colleague's fiancée Karole (Léa Seydoux) and ends up in an eternal triangle. Léa Seydoux is a successful French actress with numerous roles in her career ('Inglorious Bastardz', 'Mission impossible – Ghost Protocol', 'Midnight In Paris', as well as in Zlotowski's debut). This year she won the most prestigious award, the Palm d'Or of Cannes, for her role in the acclaimed lesbian-love drama 'Blue Is The Warmest Color'. 

'Grand Central' is a love drama charged with erotica and politics. It gives us a detailed insight into the cruel and uncertain reality of the working class and the dirty laundry of nuclear power plants.
