In 1999, the Kosovo war unexpectedly brought together two men – an American F-117A pilot and Serbian antiaircraft gun officer who shot the plane down. Their first encounter took place via radar. Twelve years later, Dale Zelko and Zoltan Dani decided to get to know each other and exchange their stories and cultural backgrounds. Željko Mirkoviæ, on his part, decided to make a documentary film about this encounter. It resulted with The Second Meeting.
The film's protagonist Zoltan Dani explains why he accepted to take part in the project: 'I wanted to send a message to the people of the world that it is better to adopt such life values that promote peace, tolerance and respect for all, as much as possible'.
This documentary film about an unusual friendship, an official candidate for the Oscar, will be shown in the Zagreb Puppet Theater on Tuesday (22 October) at 22.00. The screening will be followed by a conversation with the author. Another festival screening of the film will take place in Cinema Tuškanac on Sunday (27 October) at 15.00.
