The winners of this year's competition program of the 11th Zagreb Film Festival were announced at the press conference that has just taken place in the Müller Auditorium on the first floor of Cinema Europa.

The Indian-German-French production The Lunchbox, directed by Ritesh Batra, was proclaimed by the jury (Leo Barraclough, Srdan Goluboviæ and Ada Solomon) the best film of the 11th Zagreb Film Festival. 'It is an emotionally engaging, visually stunning arthouse film that communicates with audience all around the world', explained the jury. Its director has won Golden Pram Award and the amount of EUR 4,000.00.

A special screening of the award-winning film The Lunchbox will take place in Cinema Tuškanac tonight at 21:00.

A special mention in the feature-length competition was given to Croatian film Vis-à-Vis, directed by Nevio Marasoviæ. 'We decided to give a special mention to a very simple but honest film, Vis-à-Vis, for which we believe to be the new voice of Croatian cinema", said the jury.

Golden Pram for Best Short Film and the amount of EUR 1,000.00 went to the Romanian film In The Fishbowl, directed by Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, for the 'honest depiction of a relationship that showed us how much of a fight a real love is'.

A special mention in the short film competition went to the Danish-Icelandic film Whale Valley by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson. It is a film about the bonding of two brothers in a hostile environment.

The winner of the documentary program of the 11th ZFF is the German film The Captain And His Pirate, directed by Andy Wolff. The decision was made by the jury consisting of Saša Ban, Sead Kreševljakoviæ and Timo Novotny. '(The film is) simply but perfectly done by contrasting two worlds through two characters. The characters of the Captain and Pirate avoid the stereotypical characterization of being good or bad. Instead, they show the complexness of understanding each other as imperfect humans, even through the perspective of being enemies', explained the jury.

Serbian film The Second Meeting, directed by Željko Mirkoviæ, was given a special mention because, according to the jury, 'it tells the most impressive story in the world'.

The jury deciding on the best Croatian film in Checkers program consisted of Hana Jušiæ, Jožko Rutar and Alexandra Schmidt. They decided that Golden Pram for Best Film in Checkers program and the amount of HRK 10,000.00 go to the film It's Like This Isn't You by Ivan Sikavica. As the jury explains, 'This film doesn't let the viewer look away from the embarrassing but all too familiar scenes from private life in a stylistically brave manner, without a bit of pathos'.

A special mention in Checkers program went to the film Shame On You by Daria Blaževiæ, which 'showed us the uncompromising love of a mother in a way that is both humorous and unexpected'.

The Award-presentation Ceremony of the 11th Zagreb Film Festival will take place in Cinema Europa tonight at 20:00, when Srdan Goluboviæ's film Circles will also be shown.
